What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy draws upon nutritional science to optimally nourish the body, restoring it to a balanced state of health. Rooted in Functional Medicine, Nutritional Therapy focuses on the origins, prevention and alleviation of chronic health concerns by considering the body as a unique whole where body systems and symptoms are interconnected in a web-like way.
There is an ever-growing wealth of scientific evidence linking food and nutrient intake with health and disease. Making healthy food choices is more than eating your ‘five a day’ – it is about knowing what nutrients you need so that your body can function optimally.
Nutritional Therapy does not claim to treat or cure illnesses – but it does crucially consider the causes of health problems, many of which have diet and lifestyle origins.Committing to a healthy lifestyle can be challenging and confusing and with so much conflicting information it’s extremely difficult to find the right answers.
